Random Surroundings at it’s Finest
Roaming the halls trying to enforce education on the students are the deans who had already gone through the difficulties of learning. Each one of them went to a distinct college. Mark Monzingo, went to Cornell and Queens College. Jodi Backer, a new Dean to the school, Jodi Backer, went to Queens College. And finally Frantz Moise, who attended a college named the University of Bordeaux in France. Information Technology High School is a preparatory school that allows its 951 students to learn in one of its 53 classrooms, which is stock full of utilities so that the students enhance their minds.
Another set of teachers who enforce education on their students are Mr. Sipkin, Mr. Moloney and Ms. Bush. Through all their spunk and ability to teach their students as much as they possibly can, each still has something unique belonging to them. For example, Mr. Sipkin, who’s middle name is Neil, enjoys reading the New York Times newspaper. This newspaper all ways has a printed motto that goes like this: “All The News That’s Fit to Print”. As for Ms. Bush her all time favorite book is Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak. And finally Mr.Moloney whose all time favorite sports moment was in an interview with Marion Jones. She had won the World Championships, when in the middle of the interview she burst out in tears crying like a baby. It was so moving for Mr. Moloney , this one stands out the most “because it represents a genuine sports interview rather than those crappy ones…”.
There are many stores surrounding Information Technology High School, which students have easy access too. There are also many ways to get out of the school's vicinity. These places, such as subway, cinnabon and Penn Station, are available to students. Cinnabon’s delight at Queens Center Mall range form $4.50 to $11.50. A four pack cinnabon being $4.50, a six pack being $10.50 and a nine pack being $11.50. Penn Station offers six places to eat pizza, two Pizza Hut’s, Don Pepi Pizza, Caruso’s Pizza, Rose Pizza and Pasta, and even Subway sells personal pizzas. Even Coney Island, which is the last stop on the “N” train, students and visitors, can enjoy riding the Cyclone, which is only $6.00.
A speaker from Subway, Narindar Singh, who owns a Subway Franchise, said that it takes about $15,000 to actually open the place. Of course, it comes with its own furniture, but you have to research the franchise and submit the application. Following this you must find an area that is open for you business and get information about getting a loan. But enough about Subway, some Information Technology Students like to have a good time after school by going to public parks, such as Central Park. Central Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux on April 28, 1858. These two people later became know as the founders of Central Park. Not to far from Central Park is FAO Schwarz, which sells 6 different M&M colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Brown.
During the summer, students tend to go away on vacation. They may be going to Madison, Wisconsin; Atlanta, Georgia; Orange County, California; and Syracuse, New York. All these places have a main airport. The main airport in Madison, Wisconsin is Dane County Regional Airport. In Atlanta, Georgia, it is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. In Orange County, California it is John Wayne. Lastly in Syracuse, New York it is Syracuse Hancock Airport. Another little fun fact is Continental Airlines is the airline hub for Houston and Newark. Even site seeing is common when summer rolls around. Places such as Mount Rushmore have a history behind them. Did you know that each President was chosen because they have changed America and they are considered the founding fathers. Another ‘fun’ fact about Presidents is that in 1910, President William H. Taft threw out the first season Opening Day pitch to Walter Johnson.
But hey, it’ really all around you. If you just pay closer attention, then life might just seem a little more interesting. You may think, well hey that’s dork stuff, but only you chose what to do. Remember that the thing that are cool, or interesting, are the things that you chose. So make the right choice and enjoy what’s around you.
